Join the Team

Being part of the Westek team gives you the opportunity to make a real difference to protecting the safety of people across the world

From our base in Melksham, Wiltshire, we design, manufacture and build rugged computer systems for use in extreme environments. Starting life in 1987 building compact PCI telecoms systems, in the early 2000s we added rugged systems to our portfolio. Since then, bespoke rugged solutions have become our speciality and we have systems deployed worldwide. Our customers rely on our ability to think outside the box, reliably producing ultra-tough solutions tailored to their specific application and environment.

What we offer

Learning, development, and opportunities for progression

We ensure our staff have access to the training and support they need to perform at their best. Our opportunities for development include both formal and informal development programmes, apprenticeships, training in technical and people skills, and support with achieving professional qualifications and memberships. We aim to cross skill our staff and create opportunities for them to progress within the company.

Wellbeing

The wellbeing of our team is paramount, and we have embraced a holistic wellbeing strategy that covers mental, physical and financial wellbeing. This includes providing all our staff with an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP), assistance with eye care costs, an annual health & lifestyle check, a cycle scheme, mental health first aiders, a menopause champion, and a wellbeing hub with links to information and resources on all aspects of wellbeing.

We believe in fairly remunerating our staff for the investment of their commitment to Westek, ensuring we assess our employee packages regularly against market expectations. We have also provided additional cost of living payments to staff in response to the cost of living crisis.

Inclusivity & Diversity

We believe in building a workplace and culture that is inclusive – one where our differences are not only embraced but make us stronger.

This includes driving equal opportunities, including reducing the disability employment gap. We are a member of the UK Government’s Disability Confident Scheme which encourages employers to think differently about disabilities and to improve how they recruit, retain and develop disabled people.

Flexible Work Options

We understand our team members are all different and will sometimes need more flexibility with working hours or location. We support them by aiming to provide a flexible approach to standard working hours, starting and finishing times, and are open to part time, remote and hybrid working.

We may not be able to offer full flexibility in some roles for business reasons, but we will always encourage our employees to talk to us and will do our best to accommodate them.

Community Engagement & Social Events

Wiltshire Air Ambulance is our adopted charity, and we have supported their vital work through fundraising and volunteering. We also participate in other charity and outreach events such as Red Nose Day and helping the Ukrainian appeal. Besides making a difference to our communities, our fundraising activities are great for fostering teamwork and having fun.

We also enjoy Summer and Christmas socials, as well as ad hoc events during the year.
